Cairns Eye Surgery has two eye doctors – Dr Brian Todd and Dr Andrew Field. We offer both Medical and Surgical Ophthalmology management.

Major eye surgery, including Cataract surgery, Glaucoma and Pterygium surgery, Oculoplastic, eyelid reconstructive and lacrimal surgery are performed at the Cairns Private Day Surgery and the Cairns Hospital Day Surgery Unit. Minor eye procedures including intraocular injections, dry eye treatments, surgery on the external surface of the eye and lids and laser eye treatments are performed onsite within Cairns Eye Surgery’s minor operating theatres.

When making an appointment with us you will require a current referral from your optometrist or doctor in order to reclaim money back from Medicare.

We accept payment by cash, EFTPOS, cheque, most major credit cards (except AMEX and Diners club), and bank transfers.

Cairns Eye surgery offers patients subsidised cataract surgery for pensioners and non-pensioners who do not have private health insurance without having to go on a public waiting resulting in significant savings for these patients.
